In 1951, Nambé began with a bold vision in the village of Nambé, New Mexico. What started with metallurgist Martin Eden’s creation of a unique eight-metal alloy, brought to life by Pauline Cable, has since evolved into a globally recognized name in home décor and tableware. As Nambé celebrates its 75th anniversary, it stands as a testament to timeless beauty, artistic integrity, and uncompromising quality, honoring its roots while embracing the future.

Nambé is not real silver. It is made from a proprietary, trade-secret metal alloy—primarily composed of aluminum and seven other metals—that has the shiny look and luster of silver without containing any actual silver, lead, or pewter. Nambé alloy’s legendary thermal properties stem from its proprietary eight-metal formulation, engineered to retain temperatures far longer than silver, pewter, or aluminum developed by a Los Alamos scientist. It emphasizes how mid-century sculptors like Richard K. Thomas merged high art with utilitarian everyday items.

Excellent vintage condition and all four plates have the original label on the bottom. No deep scratches; uniform, glowing patina with minor discoloration that may be removed.
