An exceptionally rare, late 19^th/early 20^th century museum-quality antique French glazed porcelain figurine crafted by the historic R. Laporte workshop in Limoges, France. This three-dimensional piece depicts a winter dog sled team featuring two sculpted dogs harnessed to a sled with a dark wire leash. The sled is laden with a classic oval traveler's pack. The figurine comes with its original, separate wooden presentation and storage box, which has kept this fragile piece safe for over a century. Due to estate packing, tape was applied to keep the box closed so there is minor discoloration to the box. Figurine is in pristine condition.
